Day 62: Farmington, NM (6.7.24)

A sunny good morning to you all, Starting today, the trip goes south again for three days before I head east towards the Atlantic Ocean. Grand Junction was quickly deserted this morning as the mountains surrounding Silverton and Durango called loud and clear. Unfortunately, from Montrose to Durango there is also pure mass tourism with all the unpleasant side effects, such as vehicles creeping down the valley at 25kmh, holding up everyone else. The area is of course fantastic, especially the many historic mines are well worth seeing. The hardships people have endured over the years just to gain a little wealth is incomprehensible.
