Day 60: Monticello, UT (4.7.24)

Good morning – here I am again, are you too?
Today we first went along Route 66 for a bit and then headed northeast towards Tuba City and on to Monument Valley National Park. The road followed the ridge and always remained at an altitude of around 2000m, the area became more barren, but also increasingly rocky, the ground torn and fissured.
The Navajo Reservation began around 20 miles after Flagstaff, in which I was to stay until the town of Bluff (very impressive with its sandstone formations).
Monument Valley was pretty crowded because today is a holiday here (Independence Day) - so I only rode along the outer edge. After Monument Valley came Mexican Hat, which takes its name from a rock that looks like a soTag 60: Monticello, UT (4.7.24)
