Day 51: Wenatchee, WA (25.6.24)
A wonderful good morning, after the last few days there were quite long routes, today there was a very short one. 262km to Wenatchee in Washington. So I had time in the morning for a short walk through downtown Spokane and I was surprised at how idyllic it is there. Back on the route I mostly crossed hilly steppe country again, only in the last 50km it became a little rockier and shortly before the finish I had to cross the mighty Columbia River. In the late afternoon I took a short walk to the river, because sitting in the car all the time isn’t particularly healthy. The statue, which stands on the waterfront in Wenatchee, depicts Alexander Griggs, the founder of Grand Forks. How small the world is…
