Day 48: Williston, ND (22.6.2024)

Today’s route takes us from Grand Forks, ND to Williston, ND. At 9 sharp we set off towards the west and it was drizzling lightly. But that doesn’t matter to me today because I’m sitting in the car and my injured horse is behind me. I pass the town of Devils Lake on the lake of the same name, then Rugby with the obelisk that marks the geographical center of North America and Minot with its Scandinavian quarters. The short-grass steppe land is increasingly turning into lush grassy hills on which huge herds of black cows graze and countless oil pumps do their work.
