Day 61: Grand Junction, CO (05.07.2024)

Hello everyone, a new day, let’s go! Monticello is really only good as a stopover, at least with my ambitions. We continued north on US191 towards the town of Moab. In between there were two beautiful photogenic objects, the “Church Rock” and the “Wilson Arch”, which are always worth a quick stop for. Moab was busy as usual and everyone wanted to go to Arches National Park. Not me this time, I turned right into Castle Valley beforehand and that was a great decision. The Colorado River runs through the valley and is framed by fantastic rocks in all colors and shapes. Halfway there are the Fisher Towers on the right, where I hiked on the trail for an hour, which was quite strenuous with all the ups and downs and almost 35 degrees. All other experiences – of course very detailed – can be found in our book.
