Day 50: Spokane, WA (24.6.2024)
Hello everyone, I’m glad you’re back! Today we’re going into the mountains, more precisely the Rocky Mountains. Yesterday I saw the impressive mountain range in its tiny form and with every kilometer this morning it got a little closer and got bigger and bigger. I wanted to ride the “Going to the sun road” and bike the route to Logan Pass. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, because after almost 10km there was a red display and “Overheat Protection” again – for me that meant: off the mouse. I rolled back down into the valley a little disgruntled and drove on in the car – I had no other choice. I don’t want to offend anyone, but: if you want to ride an Aventon e-bike in hilly or mountainous regions, think about it three times! In any case, the area is very beautiful, although not nearly as spectacular as described everywhere. There are 100 such passes in the European Alps. The rest of the route went like chewing gum, especially because most of the tourists were desperate to carry their vehicles down the mountain. Montana is really beautiful, in parts a bit like the Engadine in Switzerland. I literally flew through Idaho and am now sitting at McDonalds in Spokane because the gang from my Apple Tree Inn won’t give me internet. Of course, detailed information is in the book.
